Solid Declaration of the Formula of Concord
par Martin Chemnitz
Lu par Jonathan Lange
The Solid Declaration is the detailed exposition of the Formula of Concord, a Lutheran confession of faith published in 1577. It sets out the reasoning behind the Formula’s twelve articles and explains the positions its authors sought to affirm.
Written amid disputes over Lutheran teaching, the work addresses questions of doctrine and how Scripture should guide their resolution. It is a theological document rather than a narrative: its structure follows the articles of the confession, developing and defending each in turn.
For listeners interested in Reformation history or Lutheran theology, the Solid Declaration offers a close look at how a major statement of faith was explained and argued. This edition is attributed to Martin Chemnitz.
