Nice short story

Humans and aliens meet, and a shot is fired. This touches off a battle between the two sides that culminates in their two ships crashing into each other and fusing. Realizing their peril, they try to work together to free themselves. They are racing against the clock, however, because their crash put them on a collision course with the sun. Will they do it in time? Will this joint effort lead to a reconciliation? Reader was excellent. I enjoyed this book thoroughly.

The Best and the Worst of Us

This is a hopeful story, that is concise, to the point, and thoroughly enjoyable. It clearly delineates human being's best and worst impulses, and the consequences of both. The author contrasts hate and love, self interest and altruism, fear and courage in a rollicking, suspenseful tale. Additionally, the narration is excellent.
a first contact that really worked
witchking
this story as in all of Murry Leinsters stories is steeped with moral and ethical overtones. the authors saving grace is it is rarely it in your face or shoved down your throat. he usually works it into the storyline very well. I did enjoy this book.
A very enjoyable tale

Excellent story of first contact that so nearly ended differently due to a xenophobic weapons officer.

essentially cowboys and indians becoming friends, just in space, with space ships instead horses.
