Christmastide

Containing Four Famous Poems

By Favorite American Poets

English · 1877 · 13m · Anthologies, Poetry

Christmastide brings together four poems by American writers: John Greenleaf Whittier’s “The River Path,” Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s “Excelsior,” James Russell Lowell’s “The Rose,” and Thomas Bailey Aldrich’s “Baby Bell.”

This short anthology offers a chance to hear four distinct poetic voices in one collection. Its title places the selection in a Christmas-season context, while the poems themselves range across different subjects and moods.
