Front Page Farrell was a 15-minute daily soap opera and crime serial that aired on Mutual/NBC from June 23, 1941, to March 26, 1954. This unique series featured a husband and wife detective team, cleverly designed to attract the working-class audience after a long day at work.

Set during WWII, many episodes were inspired by real-life events from the Office of War Information. The show initially starred Richard Widmark as David Farrell, an ace reporter for 'The Brooklyn Eagle,' before Carleton Young took over the role. Staats Cotsworth later became the lead for most of the remaining run. Florence Williams, and later Virginia Dwyer, portrayed Sally Farrell, David's love interest.
