Don’t read on if you haven’t heard the story. First let me say that Mary Bard is a wonderful narrator, and her rendering of this book is beautiful. This is a stirring and melancholy story by one of my favorite authors. It’s a parable that one can only come away from nodding in agreement about the fallen and tragic state of our world. It could have been written today or a thousand years ago and have been equally pertinent. It’s the story of innocence lost, told through the experiences of a blameless and kind celestial creature who is rapidly brought to ruin by pain, and his mistreatment by humans. It ends sadly.
Something to Ponder

I found this very touching and totally unexpected. It is strange, yet relatable and relevant to today's culture and political strife. The characters are interesting and hold it altogether, while thought provoking diversities caused me to consider various current social and economic issues such as minimum wage, equal education for all, voting rights, and immigration policies. It is a good read. The reader is excellent as well.
