5 for the novel, 2 for the reader. and I'm sorry to say that. I appreciate the effort and work to complete this but I think maybe it's just his cadence. I feel like maybe his style is better suited for poetry?? take a listen and judge Tor yourself. it's otherwise a great novel

Very Good

(5 Sterne)

I think this is the best of Oppenheim's novels so far recorded. As usual we are just pre-World War I and a dastardly plot has to be uncovered (which proves rather easy) and foiled (not so easy). The reader is up to his usual excellent standards.

the Vanished Messenger

(5 Sterne)

Well read. Good long story with intrigue, suspense and good character builds and dialogue set in the weeks before ww1 in the rugged seashore of nor-eastern Britain. With a bit of a romance thrown in for enjoyment. Thanks.!

Excellent reader & interesting story

(5 Sterne)

I enjoy listening to this reader. The story is interesting. Thanks for taking the time to read for people like myself who are too lazy to hold a book up & read it ourselves.

Good story, but

(3 Sterne)

It is a good story but the reader has a habit of reading all sentences without a "?" or an "!" on the end in the same sort of monotone which almost stopped me from continuing.

starts slow but picks up

(4 Sterne)

I thought it started a bit slow but once I felt invested in the characters it was good.

Retribution, murder, espionage- 👍

(4 Sterne)

Retribution, murder, espionage - nicely plotted and fully developed characters. Well narrated by Richard Kilmer (as usual). Recommended.

The reader has such a sing song way of reading it distracted me so much I turned off the book.
