The Ascent of Mount Carmel is one of the timeless classics of Christian contemplation, radical in its time and deeply influential in the world today. St John of the Cross and St Teresa of Avila worked together to reform the Carmelite Order in the Roman Catholic Church, in which he is honored as one of the Doctors of the Church. An active priest and teacher in his lifetime, this work is considered primary source material the training of Spiritual Directors, and an essential set of guidelines for all students of Revelation through Divine Love. Many thanks to Ed

I must say that I am indebted to Ed Humpal and the clear and purposeful reading of this important work. If you find you don't have time to read as much as you'd like and need audiobooks to fill the gap (like me), then this is a spiritual treasure of the highest sort. I have come back to this recording probably five times already and will continue to do so as I slowly and carefully allow it to shape the interior disposition of the spiritual life we all are striving for. So happy this exists.

A breath of fresh air

(5 Sterne)

This book is deep and difficult. It is very challenging. Yet it also refreshes greatly. It provides hope for greater union with God. It frees us from being deluded by many mistakes. I so appreciate both the author and our reader and all the time they took to give us this gift.

(5 Sterne)

If you want to grow spiritually as a Christian, this book is very helpful. I highly recommend listening to the whole thing. He was very inspirational to Pope St. John Paul II. The narrator does a great job too.

Open Your Mind
