Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (version 3)
Gelesen von Peter Yearsley
Lewis Carroll
"Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do ..." .. and from that moment onward we drift with Alice into another world. When she sees a White Rabbit as it runs through the tall grass (looking worriedly at the watch it takes from its waist-coat pocket), she runs after it and drops into a strange dream. The world is full of chatty animals, from a rather stand-offish hookah-smoking caterpillar to the friendly Cheshire Cat which only sometimes goes to the bother of having a body. And everyone seems to be ordering her about ... or telling her to recite poetry! ... and all those verses that she once knew so well seem strangely distorted.
In this book and in "Through the Looking Glass", Lewis Carroll affectionately brought together many of the wonderful stories he told to Alice and her sisters on long summer boating trips. (Summary by Peter Yearsley) (2 hr 43 min)

The Best reading

The perfect audiobook to fall asleep to. Peter's voice is so clear and calm. He does the most incredible voicing of characters and the intonation is is full of emotion and really conveys the ambiance of the story. Would give it more than 5/5 if it was possible.
One of the best children's classics of all time!

I've always loved the story told by Carroll in Alice's Adventures In Wonderland. This recording by Peter Yearsly, with the proper British accent it deserves, brings the story so much more magic. Add to it the times he literally sang some of the poems in the story and I think we can all agree this is the very best recording of this world classic.
it’s really fun
Ezekiel
I really really liked it. I liked the baby who turned into a pig. I liked the hedgehog in it. I liked how Alice looked at the bottle before drinking it to make sure there was no poison. I really enjoyed it. Bye

what a great voice actor and timeless story. this is a professional -quality reading. in one episode of "Star Trek Discovery," Burnham recites the passage about going down the rabbit hole while crawling through a Jeffries tube in a particularly dangerous situation. she had read the book numerous times as a child growing up on Vulcan. it is such a timeless story that a child reading this on another planet hundreds of years in the future doesn't seem so far-fetched.
Timeless classic

This book owes its classic status not to children but to adult readers. I recall being confused and even a little frightened by what happens to Alice in this, and feeling somewhat confounded that it was all a dream. It's grownups who appreciate how droll and witty the book is, and it's grownups who keep it alive.
A very gentle and engaging reading
Jennifer Näslund
This is my favourite reading of this book. It flows well, is very gentle and the reader avoids the horrible sing-song style that alot of readers tend to apply to any supposed fairytale. I did enjoy the singing too!
Volunteer but not amateur

This may have been read by a volunteer but he’s no amateur. It is a gentle and also playful rendition of this strange childhood classic.
I could listen to this book over and over and over again!

I love it! I listen to it every night to get to sleep.
