i have seen two movies on her life and learned about her in school. so i was not going to try this book at firstn then i had second thoughts and decided to give it a listen. a fine job by the reader. i learned SO much. i had no idea she went to college or how close she was with Alexander Graham bell. and i am flabbergasted by the languages she was able to master! her ability to describe things she has never seen was also interesting.
a life discovered by persistent & patient guidance

The eloquence of the otherwise deaf, dumb & blind young lady is moving & inspiring. I can visualise the wide range of discoveries through Ms. Keller's carefully chosen prose, and this from someone who could never achieve such a feat had she been left uncared for. A moving story of the unconquerable soul, if only a caring, loving, patient teacher sees beyond. great job!

It is interesting to hear what her life was like. It's not the most fascinating read ever but it kept my interest. The reader had a clear and very relaxing voice. It was perfect for listening before bed. Would recommend.
