several twists and turns have made me seek out another js Fletcher read!

Some of the narrators were hard to understand. The narrator of chapter 6 was the worst. I just couldn't keep listening.

Another Thanks To Librivox

I wanted to thank once again all of the readers and other Librivox volunteers for helping to make my life (and I'm sure the lives of others) more enjoyable. You all bring great writers out of the closet for anyone who can hear or see to enjoy in whatever genre they like. Fletcher's novels are enjoyable because, even though they speak of tragic incidences in the lives of people, it is done much less graphically than many of our present day writers seem to do. So that you enjoy the work without thinking too much of the horror. God Bless all of you at Librivox.

This a a keen story with intriguing ramifications. The assortment of readers do a good job with the exception of Chapter VI, who is the worst reader I have ever heard on LibraVox. That reader even concludes her ghastly sing-song by declaring “end of chapter VII.” The author was noted for creating hundreds of murder plots among his other writings. Even though this book is about 100 years old, it is not reflected in this story, for it is up-to-date as to character development and story line.

MYSTERY, PLOTS, TWISTS & TURNS

(5 Sterne)

A tale we'll worth following. Agatha Christie must have read many of these hundred + year old stories. If you can get past the constant changes in readers, male and female, the English as a Second Language readers with sometimes obscure or mis- pronunciations and the occasional dull flat reader, behind that is a tale worthy of a television series.

More a procedural

(4 Sterne)

For most of the story the “detective” is a cad. Towards the end there are so many “detectives” it’s hard to keep track. The ending feels tacked on. Even with all these faults it’s a good read/listen.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story and most of the reading, but some of the readers were truly below par. I appreciate, though, that they are volunteers and without them these books would not be available.
