The Yukon Trail: A Tale of the North (filmed as The Grip of the Yukon in 1928) is an adventure yarn from the prodigious output of William MacLeod Raine, who averaged nearly two western novels a year for some 46 years. Twenty of his novels have been filmed. Though Raine was prolific, he was a slow, careful, conscientious worker, intent on accurate detail, and considered himself a craftsman rather than an artist. Great suspense

(4,5 Sterne)

Loved the story, although the narrator can be annoying at times. There's a lot of back biting and knock down drag out fights between several of the characters that have gone to Yukon for the gold, antsy women who have gone there only to find a man to marry. There's also a love triangle, however, it's not trashy mushy stuff. Enjoy

WHEN MEN WERE MEN

(4,5 Sterne)

A surprisingly entertaining story, one made for the movies. Drama, romance, feuds, and suspense all combine with a fun story to satisfy any adventuresome person. The unequaled talent of Dolbier with his gteat accents and voices was perfection.

great reading, engaging story

I love stories of the West age this was a really fun romp through Alaska, full of intrigue and romance. Really excellent reader!
