Over the years, strange things have been happening at the Paris Opéra House. The new owners, M. Moncharmin and M. Richard don't know what to do about the mysterious "Opera Ghost" demanding money, nor the tragic death of the chief scene-shifter. Now the young Soprano, Christine Daae, has been kidnapped and her lover, the Vicomte de Chagny, is going mad. The opera house is falling to pieces. Absolutely outstanding

(5 Sterne)

There is no doubt that this novel is amazing in itself, but this audiobook is the best choice for it.The way its done is absolutely amazing. I just loved it. Anyone wanting to read the book, should just listen to this, that would be a much better experience. :) Salute to all readers and editors and anyone else involved.

Opera Ghost

(4 Sterne)

The readers did a very good job. Dramatic readings can be hit or miss, but all the readers we easy to understand. The book itself is good and interesting. This is a rare occasion where I like the movie and play significantly better. Not just for the music, but they way the story is overall better, in my opinion. Though I feel they should have done more to make the phantom more grotesque like they describe him. Won't go much more into that, but it's definitely worth a listen for those curious about the source of the musical masterpiece

Amazing book, great recording

(4,5 Sterne)

The cast was overall wonderful! Only a few issues. The man who voiced Erik also played a couple other characters, and to differentiate between the voices, he did a rather distracting "accent" for Erik where he just constantly rolled all his Rs. Otherwise he was very good. I particularly enjoyed tbe man who voiced Raoul, because he put so much emotion into his performance. I did laugh a bit when in the torture chamber, Raoul said a part of what was supposed to be Christine's dialogue.

very enjoyable

(4 Sterne)

It's a silly horror story in essence but a very enjoyable one. The voice acting took a bit time to get used to but don't give up on it too fast! I ended up liking most readers, they fit their characters well. Also the dialogue gets quite hilarious sometimes which i did not expect. I laughed aloud at some parts, especially at Raoul's clueless uselessness. The reader of the phantom has good comic timing as well. I'm glad I listened!

Excellent Reading

(4 Sterne)

The readers performed extraordinarily well. I give this version a four star rating rather than five only because the story itself is not as entertaining as I imagined it might be. I am certain it was quite sensational during the period it was written. For today’s audience it may lack its original ability to maintain shock and suspense. However, it is still entertaining overall. Especially due to the work of the readers.

VERY well read, a classic

(5 Sterne)

ALL of the readers did a fantastic job! The audio quality was perfect. What a well done audio performance. One of my favorite plays/movies. of course the book is more detailed and so explained many of the unknown little things the movie leaves out. a classic novel that must be read by all.

fantastic

(5 Sterne)

This was very well done. It's psychologically very interesting. The play doesn't come close to it really, but once having read this, it makes much more sense. Besides, Weber totally ripped off Pink Floyd's echoes but it's a great riff. I digress... this is wonderful and I highly recommend it!

Veryyyyyy Good!

(5 Sterne)

I absolutely enjoyed this audiobook. The manner in which they portrayed the feelings of the characters. And the change in voices really helped The pronunciations were so accurate and it was very good. The voices also fit the characters very much
