Coffee and Repartee
Gelesen von Daryl Wor
John Kendrick Bangs
First released in 1893, Coffee And Repartee is a collection of breakfast chats at a gentlemen's boarding house run by a Mrs. Smithers. Here these fellows repeatedly face questions and proclaimations of an inhabitant they call The Idiot. The discussions sound friendly under pretense, but are really sly battles of ribald wit and cunning charm, as well as rather offensive remarks during a time period considered by many to favour a height of refined etiquette. The Idiot spars well, but will the other residents get the better of him? (Summary by Morlock) (1 hr 46 min)

Pretty entertaining. The right side of my brain was ecstatic with the wit and clever banter. The left side was wondering why these guys kept at it, just ignore the fool! Don't these people have anything better to do? Overall good book. On a side note, the Idiots no idiot, probably the contrary. A smart man who's very bored maybe and argues for the sake of arguing. I loved how whenever the landlady got involved her food or coffee got insulted.
Well read and entertaining.

Very funny in a low-keyed sort of way. I enjoyed it, especially the silly puns about the coffee and food and the continual annoyance the "Idiot" caused to his fellow boarders that he always one-upped. Good to listen to when you just want to relax.

Another funny satire with the idiot and his oponions that his fellow lodgers try to out do him each day. Well read and enjoyable story line if you like the Idiot series I have.listened to all four and like them all and I really enjoy Bangs works.

If you are a NAZI. These whimsical, we'll narrated stories failed to express the existential angst African Americans experience at the hands of the despotic heyeronormativy of the Donald Trump supporters.

This should be adapted for TV, to follow 'Roseanne'. Very capable narrator. Thank you.
