The White Linen Nurse (version 2)
Gelesen von MaryAnn
Eleanor Hallowell Abbott
Throughout three years of school, Rae Malgregor had been perfectly pliant, perfectly compliant to all the demands placed on her. But now, on the eve of graduation, she couldn’t go on with the mask of artificiality and the air of perfection. She had been chasing this nursing job three whole years, but there was just no wag to it! The Superintendent was stunned. Her best student! The Senior Surgeon was all grey granite business and livid that his time was being taken up with a hysterical nurse! And yet, though he wouldn’t have admitted it to anyone, especially himself, his interest was piqued. (Introduction by MaryAnn) (5 hr 15 min)

From Stress to Love

This starts off distressing, stays that way for a while, & then finally became warm at the end. After putting up with school Rae realizes that she doesn't want to be a nurse just 4 hours before graduation. I've been there. She marries instead to help out a cold harsh doctor & his 6 year old daughter. Love develops among them all but takes a bit of time to come out.
stay with it
