Not your typical Wodehouse book

(5 Sterne)

Kirk and Ruth are a perfect match in Aunt Porter's mind. They are both perfect physical specimens. So, she brings them together. But Ruth's dad doesn't like Kirk, who he sees as a lazy ne'er-do-well, so he cuts both of them out of his life. Ruth and Kirk don't mind overmuch. They have a simple life, and a lovely little boy. But then, Kirk's inheritance starts to run out, so he must find a way to support the lifestyle he wants Ruth to have. This leads to complications aplenty, and threatens the marriage of Kirk and Ruth. This is a more emotional story than the usual satire of the Wodehouse book, but it still has a few laughs, and some deep thoughts as well. Don Jenkins does a great job with this story; the recordings are excellent. Enjoy!

Wodehouse + Eugenics ... what's not to love?

plus a lively reader to move the story along... thanks, wonderful LibriVOX volunteers. I think this is hard to find on audio, so it is an extra thing!

Excellent! Fantastic!

I like the characters in this book; PG Wodehouse captures the essence of many different types of people in this novel, with all their foibles, hopes, and strengths. The storyline entertains throughout. Excellent Librivox volunteer reader, too!
