The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (version 3)
Gelesen von Mark F. Smith
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Dr. Watson chronicles here some of the more interesting detective cases that he and his good friend, Mr. Sherlock Holmes, have encountered during their association. We see the cases unfold as he does, scratch our heads as does he while the evidence is collected, and then marvel at the impeccable observations, remarkable insight, and doggedness which Holmes displays as he teases apart the tangled clues.
Packaged as twelve distinct cases, by the end of this book your own senses of observation and deductive reasoning should be improved. It's easy to see why this book became a model for detective yarns! (Summary by Mark F. Smith) (11 hr 14 min)

One of the best recordings!

The writer's voice is so clear and intriguing! I listen to this every night before I fall asleep. This recording always seems to find a way to calm me down and relax me. Definitely one of the best on here.
Terrific Reading

The reading was as good as some professionals I have heard! Of course the stories are great, but in my opinion this is the best of the Sherlock Holmes readings, and among the best readings I have ever heard on Librivox. His voice gives life to the characters and stories and is at the same time soothing. Highly recommend!
WELL WRITTEN WELL READ
Avid Listener
This narrator has the perfect tone and pace for a Sherlock Holmes book. Most of these cases have been dtamatized on A&E or PBS, and it is interesting to see how easily and completely ACD's style converts to the visual art. Well done.
A spectacular reader for a spectacular book

This is the first recording of Mark F. Smith I have ever listened to. I have listened to approximately twenty audio books read by Mark, that so would probably never have knew existed or most likely never would have shown In. I can honestly say he is the best reader I have ever heard. His portrayal of characters and ability to manipulate his voice is nothing short of amazing. I listen to audiobooks on my drive into work due to my long commute. I sincerely look forward to my long drives to work and back, sometimes I even find myself in the driveway listening to the rest of the chapter. I honesty hope that he continues to read books, I am a huge fan, and will eagerly await every new reading he posts!
Great stories

Of course the stories are great - they're written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and they're about the legendary Sherlock Holmes! The reader was mostly wonderful. His voice is usually very clear and understandable. There were only a couple of instances where I got lost with all the changes of the voice. But, on the whole, it was very enjoyable. This version is read in American English.
Excellent stories, excellent reader.
Classic tales well read; they were so good I had long marathon listening sessions and didn't want to turn them off to go to sleep. On a modern note -- how nice to hear the original tales after watching the new British "Sherlock" series; it was fun to see how they picked out aspects from various tales to create the new versions.
Great Reading Voice

I listened through this whole book quite quickly. The voice was engaging and kept me in the story. The book of course was very good as well. I rate this five starts and I will seek out any other books read by this man.
Very good reading
I enjoyed this collection of short stories a lot! The reading is very well done and it is always pleasant to the ears, even when the reader changes voices to accommodate different characters. I was very much amused by this reading!
