introduction of new characters & narrow escape

more wonderful readers, good job. this volume introduces MANY new characters so pay close attention so u can figure out who they r and how they combine with the whole story line. gets a little confusing with all the new names but soon u have them figured out. a few long drab chapters here and there that dont have entirely much to do with the tale, but an EXCELLENT exciting final few chapters that are really enjoyable and have u wondering what will happen to our poor main character.

Again, Hugo does not disappoint. This is as good as the other volumes of course, although the introduction of so many new characters can negatively impact the listeners experience when combined with the slightly different pronunciations each reader uses. Other than this, I really have no complaints, although of course, as is typical with such multi-reader audiobooks, the readers are of varying quality. I would love to see this read by, say, Mark Nelson, Kara Shallenberg, or maybe Phil Chenevert... nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed myself listening to this!
good read
Its a very wordy book. With some chapters being a lot of talk about nothing. I sometimes wish the author would just getvtobthe heart of the story. But overall a good read. I am familiar with the story and am listening to the book to get the story "straight from the source" .
Love the book. Most readers where exceptionally wonderful. Sometimes it was hard to keep all the readers pronunciations of the names straight, but a good reading none-the-less.
Hugo appears to digress often, yet alas, it all comes together.
Robert Cruthirds
Overall, the readers are quite good but the sound quality is sometimes iffy.

Robert Keiper is terrific. Love it when he's reading parts of Monsier Gillenormand and Mademoiselle Gillenormand. (Vol 3, Book 5, Chps 5-6

This is the only way I was going to tackle this book with 5 kids around...
Excellent

Only marred by a few non-native English readers. I never did figure out what one chapter was about.
