Worthwhile

(4 Sterne)

This is sort of a coming-of-age story, mostly detailing the years 18-20 of a man's life. He narrates as he makes his way through life, fighting to maintain his integrity and gain success. It is interesting to see the different people (obstacles!) he comes into contact w/. No action, but if you like to examine interesting personalities or behaviors, or appreciate ideals and virtues, you may like this bird. One of the readers is rough to get through, but it's worth it.

Martin Geeson's enunciation of both French and English was a pleasure to listen to, and I found his reading of the text thoroughly enjoyable. It is a pity he didn't read the entire text, because the other readers, I'm afraid, really butchered the reading through their poor enunciation. I cringed at some of the pronunciations I heard from those readers

Lengthy but enjoyable

I'm glad I stuck with the book until I got past the first reader... Just could not understand her.

I quite enjoyed this book as it was different and the readers were very good apart from some loss on tape on a couple of chapts. Do appreciate this app and all the volunteers. thankyou Librivox.

Good book but not impressive

The best of all narrators in this book was Bereni, unfortunately she narrates only two chapters..
