Jane Austen
Pride and Prejudice is the most famous of Jane Austen’s novels, and its opening is one of the most famous lines in English literature - “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.” Its manuscript was first written between 1796 and 1797, and was initially called First Impressions, but was never published under that title. Following revisions it was published on 28 January 1813 by the same Mr. Egerton of the Military Library, Whitehall, who had brought out Sense and Sensibility. Like both its predecessor and Northanger Abbey, it was written at Steventon Rectory.

Oh I do love that. The ending did make me smile. Though I had heard of this story, I had never been aware of its contents. To that notes I find I still could predict most of what was to be fairly early on. More to the point, this did not take away from any enjoyment that I sought in such a story, as so often is the case. Never once did I think of abandoning the story and was pleasently happy with litening to it in its entirety.
Splendid!

I finally had the opportunity to listen to this audiobook and loved it! I've never read any of her books and found that I really liked Mr. Darcy. The readers were various volunteers and they did a great job! Good sound quality and I didn't want it to end!!

Mrs. Philadelphia Bear- Cronning
Fantastic. I listen to this whilst following the words from my copy of the book- it is helpful when it comes to understanding the mood of the text due to the reader’s expression. I love the way that although it is from the olden days, it has a witty sense of humour and a pleasant plot.
Excellent story!
Excellent story, most readers were pleasant to listen to. The story itself overcame the reader and became lively in my imagination.
Great for teens
I am thirteen and I love this. I listened to it 5 hours straight. I did cleaning and crafts, while I listened to this and enjoyed the cleaning I did.
The only comment I have is that if you are going to read from a novel written by a British author the names of the people and the town should be pronounced correctly
