Tarzan and the Lost Empire
Gelesen von Mark Nelson
Edgar Rice Burroughs
The disappearance of a noted archaeologist hunting the secret of the Lost Tribe of the Wiramwazi Mountains was a signal to the one man who could penetrate Africa's deepest interior—Tarzan of the Apes. For only Tarzan, the white man who had been raised by the anthropoid apes, could understand the ways of the jungle and its beasts perfectly enough to speed to the scientist's rescue.
But this time, in addition to savage tribes and vicious beasts, Tarzan uncovered a strange lost land—twin cities of Roman soldiery, outposts of a ruthless empire that had fallen fifteen hundred years before.
Tarzan's desperate struggle between ancient intrigues and modern schemers, against deadly gladiators and enraged lions, is Edgar Rice Burroughs at his very best. - Summary by Original Gutenberg text (6 hr 56 min)

great story,i have forgotten about Tarzan 😎
Maynard James Keenan
i loved the story and of course second hero , narrator of the same.
Interesting but
This book had so much potential with the protagonist discovering a lost Roman colony in the jungle. However, after a few interesting chapters, the narrative dissolves to the usual character dialogues about the same problems (escape from captivity and enemies) with the same motivations (love, revenge, passion, etc). Starting to appreciate what the critics said about ERB's formulaic plots down the Tarzan series line. Nevertheless, I understand his struggle with creativity being a writer myself with a few good ideas and hardly an ounce of energy to put them skillfully on paper 😂 Come for the novel plot idea, stay for the usual Tarzan adventure. Great job to the narrator.
Strange combo of roman and Tarzan.
