Jane Austen
Emma is a comic novel by Jane Austen, first published in 1816, about the perils of misconstrued romance. The main character, Emma Woodhouse, is described in the opening paragraph as "handsome, clever, and rich" but is also rather spoiled. Prior to starting the novel, Austen wrote, "I am going to take a heroine whom no-one but myself will much like." (Summary by Wikipedia) (14 hr 2 min)

Very enjoyable listen

I listened to this in the car, and found it very enjoyable. The novel is supposed to be one of Austen's best. The recording is high quality. The reader sounds American to me, but I soon got used to the accent. The way she did different voices and mannerisms for the characters was very good - not overdone, and I found it helpful. Even when reading the book I was unsure who was talking when. Thanks to Sibella Denton and the other LibriVox volunteers for reading and making my commute enjoyable!

This reading is very pleasant to listen to. I'm not a native English speaker, I'm trying to improve my oral comprehension and find it clear and understandable (ok, I'm not beginner level either). This is a good choice for whoever likes Jane Austen.
Very enjoyable

Thanks to Ms. Denton for such a lively reading. I have trouble focusing on the written word due to anxiety, but I grew up with books and I love literature, so finding a good audiobook reader is amazing for me.

it's Jane Austen what else is it going to be except fantastic. I also particularly liked the reader and this one. I usually enjoy the British speakers but I could not find one. This was very good

I love this book. The reader is very decent too although I find some of her misprounications and occasional misunderstanding of the text's meaning a little distracting. Pretty good overall
I really enjoyed the reading of this book, especially her rendition of Mrs. Bates. I also really enjoyed the book itself.
