The Return of Clubfoot
Gelesen von Mark Nelson
Valentine Williams
Whilst spending a holiday in a small Central American Republic, Desmond Okewood, of the Secret Service, learns from a dying beachcomber of a hidden treasure.
With the assistance of a millionaire, he sets out for Cock Island, in the Pacific. To his astonishment he discovers that the Man with the Clubfoot, whom he had regarded as dead, has anticipated him. It is obvious to Okewood that his old enemy is also in search of the hidden gold, and there ensues a thrilling sequence of adventures, in which the millionaire's pretty daughter takes a prominent part.
Okewood has the cipher, and the Man with the Clubfoot determines to secure it, for without that cipher it is impossible to discover the hiding-place of the treasure; but there is something that the Man with the Clubfoot does not know, whereas Okewood does. - Summary by Original Gutenberg text (7 hr 2 min)

Fantastic read gain from Mark, I liked the first book "Clubfoot" (spoiler ahead) but this one not so much cause the MC used everyone to get what he needs, and feigned ignorance when he was literally risking other's lives... only being sympthetic towards the girl cause she is beautiful. totally different from the patriotic and family MC in the first book... thanks again Mark.
A great mystery

I liked this more than the first book, not as Predictable. The descriptions made me feel like I was on the mysterious island with them. More characters involved made it exciting. Even the inevitable love story was done really well. The reader is great.
Great read, great reader
Jeffrey Lee
I enjoyed the original Clubfoot and found myself wondering how the author would go from WWI Germany to a Pacific island treasure story. He did it well! It has romance, intrigue, suspense and a hint of the Sabitini adventure novel.
this one is just as good as the first one

I really enjoyed this book it was a lot of fun and it was just as good if not better than the first one
I want more!!! Ann exciting romp into yesteryear.
A delightful work, masterfully read. It was an entertaining look into a time gone by. I was struck by how much has changed and how little.
A great story told in the refined language of a time past.

An excellent and captivating yarn, perfectly narrated, and what a villan for the main character to be distinguished against.
Great story, great sequel
Seven Archers
Not only a great sequel, but a great stand alone adventure story in its own right. Mark did an excellent job telling the story as usual.

This is a fun romp. Well read, mystery island, a band of bad guys, a beautiful girl, a steam yacht. What is not to like?
