A monument undertaking by Tatiana Chichila. Fascinating range of stories from the impact of the Franco Prussian War to everyday events in late 19th century France. A single reader made listening a pleasure. Amusing to hear the improvement in French pronunciation as the many stories progressed. It gave me weeks of pleasure.

In my opinion, it’s not easy to read Maupassant’s wry, observant tales of human dysfunction in an attractive way. Tatiana Chichilla’s unstintingly brisk reading pushes the darkness of Maupassant’s observations to a safe distance. I particularly appreciated the reader’s strong volume, clear voice & delivery…. and her determination to bring each story to life through the variations of tone & expressiveness.
Fabulous Reading

What a fabulous reading of Guy de Maupassant's short stories. I have enjoyed listening to all of them, for they have been read so well. One can only hope that Tatiana Chichilla turns her attention next to the short stories of Anton Chekhov, so listeners can enjoy them in the same way as her readings of Maupassant.
amazing collection
