This book is the sequel to Malcolm.
Having now learned the truth of his own parentage, and some important facts regarding the birth of his late master's daughter, Florimel, Malcolm MacPhail is faced with the difficult question of what to do with his knowledge. Armed with that knowledge, and with the commission the late Marquis gave him to care for Florimel, Malcolm makes his way to London to await his opportunity of serving her in the best way he can. - Summary by Devorah Allen (17 hr 9 min)

She did it again!

Devorah, seriously can't thank you enough. Who can say it like MacDonald? No one understands the message of Jesus like he does. You do a beautiful job of rendering his message. dialect included. Seriously. I wept. More than once. (and I am not a big crier.) I have listened to everything you have read by him. I have a stressful job and have had insomnia, but listening to you read MacDonald at 2 in the morning is like "the peace of God that transcends all understanding." Thank you.
An engaging narration of a remarkable novel

The Malcolm books are my favorite novels by George MacDonald, and Devorah Allen's narration of them is convincing and engaging. The Scotch brogue (when it occurs) is clear and understandable. I'm so grateful that these novels are available unabridged on Librivox. MacDonald's unique blend of romance, adventure, intrigue, and earnest Christian faith is delightful and inspiring, and Devorah's reading brings it to life. Listen to "Malcolm" first, and then to "The Marquis of Lossie."

Writing with nuance, complexity, and compassion; MacDonald’s “Malcolm” and “the Marquis of Lossie” reward us with principled quandaries, wellseasoned with provocative and reasoned heterodoxy.
