Story: I thought this might be a bit on the boring and dry side because it's such an old book, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable the tale was. Full of action, intrigue, double-crosses, death, and of course lots of treasure. Narration: This reader is one of the best I have heard. He put a lot of effort into the telling of this wonderful story. While listening I could almost always tell who was speaking because the narrator did such a great job of using different voices for each character. At a couple points he even uses special effects to overlay multiple voices (while singing) or to create an echo. I highly recommend this fantastic audiobook to anyone who likes a good story read by a wonderful voice actor.

As a kid in Kedah, Malaysia in the early 1970s, I first knew of this title from an abridged version belonging to my older cousins. This story captured my imagination, and started me off on the lifelong journey of reading.

This is one of the best readers I've ever heard on Librivox or any other audio book for that matter. He does such a good job switching in and out of the various characters. Also it is a very good recording quality. I will look for more titles read by this guy. Awesome job. I've been doing Long John impressions every since listening to this adding "Not I" to the end of my sentences... Its annoying my friends, "but I won't stop at once I won't nooo, not I"

Joyfully Read, and Joyfully Listened To

I had never read the book before, and solely based off of the story, I'm glad I picked it to read! Silver is a wonderful character, and I enjoyed picking out his and the other character's motivations. Ultimately I feel the themes of motivation and unlikely heroes was well explored. And, importantly, enjoyable explored! The packing and content was great. Now to the crux of the review. Mr. Praetzelis's (sorry for any misspelling!) reading of the story was nothing short of superb. I listened with such joy, and if I may be so bold to assume, that's because he loved reading for us! He is clear, uses wonderful voices, and really helps you to engross yourself in the story. I would gladly have paid for this. Well done!

Really enjoyed this audiobook narrated by Adrian Praetzellis. He is a delightful reader and I would gladly listen to him read an old fashioned telephone directory if he were to address with it as much fun and interest as he did this old classic. There’s a reason this old swashbuckling tale was so popular and that’s because it’s really good! Kept me engaged and entertained from start to finish. Ahoy mateys! Give er a try!
