I think this author made up the plot as he went along. Mr Kilmer great reader shame u wasted yr time on this non story but taking into account that The Gutenberg Project is to have everything that has has been (copy right allowing) written we have to have the good with the bad. Second book I have listened of this author and my opinion of the first was the same as this second. Will probably avoid this author in the future. Thank u to all LibriVox volunteers for you time and effort.
It's sure no Sherlock Holmes story.

I can't see how Quest became a famous detective. He didn't deduce anything correctly in the whole story. Worse than Clouseau and not as funny! Clues come from other people or implausible technology. Don't waste your time. Not even read any better than a text to speech program could do it (sorry, Mr. Kilmer).
Good story good reader

Interesting story & well read.

good easy listening for background story but very simple plot I knew who culprit was at least halfway through the book and for the detective to be be one of the world's best he was very obtuse they're like I said nice easy listening
The story was ok, but I knew who the villain was the second chapter he was in and the detective was so dense he didn't see it until it was spelled out for him
VERY IMAGINATIVE
AVID READER
Almost like a mystery "AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS." The bad guy was obvious for a long time, but his final revelation was surprising. Great read!
Horrible reading

I was interested in the story but had to quit because of the ridiculous cadence of the reader. Couldn't tolerate it.
