Norby is requested to guarantee a bank loan for Wangen and he obliges, signing the loan document in the presence of a witness. Some time later the witness dies. Years after that Wangen defaults on the loan, requiring Norby to pay the balance, but Norby declares his signature on the document to be a forgery. fascinating story, well read

(5 Sterne)

A tale that demonstrates that there’s enough blame for everyone when something goes wrong and how easy it is to evade responsibility and how easily we deceive ourselves and allow ourselves to be deceived.

Disappointed that Lee’s synopsis summarises the whole story leaving little to the imagination. Shame on Lee for spoiling the book for the listener by his seemingly wish to express his views. I will not be listening to his introductions anymore.book reviews are for book clubs after everyone has ready the story.
