Don’t you love it when Johnson begins his rejoinders with “SIR...”. I listened to the entire Boswell biography, considered the best ever written, and chuckled throughout. This account is in the same form and it is equally entertaining. Boswell showed the deepest love and respect for Johnson despite his many critical asides. Anthony Ogus is perfect.

Intriguing book, great reader

My mum has an old copy of this at which I made an attempt at but didn't get far - much easier to listen to! Great, interesting book read so well by Anthony.

Nice. You have to love the Boswell/Johnson bromance! If you enjoyed Boswell's Life of Johnson, this more of the same. A lively reading for sure, I highly recommend the reader.

Marvellous reading brings to life a book that might be a bit dry and dated in print. Portrait of a friendship and a society in transition.
