The Flirt
Gelesen von Lee Smalley
Booth Tarkington
Laura and Cora Madison and their younger brother Hedrick live with their parents in a Midwestern American town that is fairly bursting with Cora’s discarded and would-be beaus. Her flirtatiousness annoys the tempestuous Hedrick but not the reserved Laura. The return to town of a handsome, charming former resident and an encounter with a deranged young person set in motion a roller-coaster of events that interweave and play out to an exciting, emotional climax.
Booth Tarkington's writing is exceptionally sensitive and perceptive. A popular American novelist and dramatist, he is best remembered for his Pulitzer Prize-winning novels "The Magnificent Ambersons" and "Alice Adams". – Lee Smalley (8 hr 3 min)

How do I review a Booth Tarkington book? I’ve never loved the theme of his books. They tend to over-exaggerate characters. But it was interesting and the reader did very well. I’m desperate to find good books on LibriVox. Ive listened to tons and do not like spending money on audio books.

2018 - I do no suffer fools very easily (even myself) and this book had a full cast of them even to the sweet sister, though she was a bit more tolerable. But I wanted to listen to a few of Mr. Smalley recordings.

This was a good book. It kept me guessing what kind of mess beautiful Cora would get into. Her little brother was a little hellion!
unbelievably bad!

Amazingly bad. The writing is all around bad. The characters are completely unrealistic, horrible caricatures.
