Uncanny Tales

Mrs. Molesworth was during her time best known for her many children's books. It is not so well known that she also wrote some uncanny tales, which are probably best enjoyed by people a little above the age-group for which Mrs. Molesworth normally wrote. - Summary by Carolin (4 hr 52 min)

Good Book

(4 Sterne)

These were unexpectedly cool stories. Some were ghostly, some were as the title suggests uncanny, and a few were simply mysterious. But I enjoyed them all, and hope the author wrote more stories in this vein. Many thanks for the hard work of all the volunteers who narrated this book.

Something about these stories seems musical and inspires me to make up toe tapping lyrics in summery. "And we shall meet again my dear, halfway between the styles!" Thank you, narrators and Librivox.

Delightfully creepy stuff!

Collected here are eerie tales to listen to around the campfire- or snuggled up in bed in the dark! They are read well and effectively by some great volunteer voices.

excellently written

good writing and we'll read. a good story for those who like tense tales.

Some okay, moderately creepy tales - though sadly the last story is horribly sexist.
