When they come into possession of a mysterious prehistoric cube, relic hunter Gabriel Parker, and the alluring artifact historian Natasha Rossi, find themselves inexplicably bound to a dark mythology dating back to the roots of civilization. Throughout history the long lost Cube has been sought after by emperors, popes, and caliphs alike. It is believed to be a container of knowledge; a holy vessel capable of emancipating humanity from the confines of earthly mortality. Now that it has been found, demonic forces are surfacing to destroy it. Their presence marks the return of a potent nefarious entity that once reigned supreme in Earth’s distant reptilian past.
Under the apocalyptic shadow of global unrest and rampant natural disasters, Gabriel and Natasha battle to prevent this sinister blight from being unleashed. With nothing but a tattered journal to guide them, they race from Italy to Morocco, and finally to the mountains of Northern Spain where they must locate a Lost Labyrinth spoken of by the ancients. There, deep in a Sacred Chamber, they will find salvation for mankind, but not without a price. A cosmic clock is ticking. It marks the world’s entry into the oblivion of the Dark Rift, and the final days that remain.

Well done...good plot line, developed characters, tons of action. My only wish is that the next 2 books were available through Podiobooks.com. I'd really enjoy reading/hearing the rest of the story, but the prices seem a bit high. One site had Book 2 listed at $19.99 (plus shipping). That's way ...

Amazing! Incredible characters developed with depth and growth. Details were massive, yet intricately woven, threading you along for an apocalyptic, edge-of-your ride! Hypnotic narration and plot! Amazing! Incredible characters developed with intense depth (think catacombs level) and growth (galaxy sized). Details were massive, yet intricately woven (mazes, in more than one innuendo), threading you along for an apocalyptic, edge-of-your seat ride! Hypnotic narration and plot (pun intended)! I rarely engage in trilogies and seldom give zombies a nod, (actually, I do find them boring -not in this case) however â Where has this gem been hiding?! Two thumbs up, Mr Ness. So put *that* in your pipe and smoke it! ;)
Good & Bad

The story is interesting, albeit convoluted. Would probably read better. This audio version has glitches. The length of each chapter is way longer than the audio. The loud music at the beginning of each part is loud & disruptive when listening at bedtime.
Not one zombie!
I am a big fan of zombie stories. That is not what this is. I may have enjoyed it if it was presented as a story about demonic possession, and a quest for the holy grail. Definitely disappointed with this one.

Storyline really good, disliked length of music at each end of sessions. The narrator was a little difficult to listen to at first, but seemed to relax as story sessions continued. Overall, a good book,

Very good story! I'm looking forward to the next. It incorporates ancient religious stuff, adventure, relic hunting, and it's the start of what seems to be an epic zombie tale done in a new and interesting way.

Very well narrated. However I found the entire story to be one cliché after another. The author shows promise but really needs to work with a good editor and hone his craft.
