Theater Five

(3 Sterne; 1 Bewertungen)

Radio drama left the air on September 30, 1962, when CBS ran the last episodes of Suspense and Johnny Dollar. There were radio executives, production staff, writers, and actors, who thought that radio drama still had a place in network programming, and ABC Radio thought it was worth a try. In August 1964 the anthology series started with its 20-minute episodes, five days per week, with adventure, drama, science fiction, comedies, and other formats. The most familiar radio voice was announcer Fred Foy, on the ABC staff after years of announcing the Lone Ranger radio series. New York's finest radio actors appeared on the series. Unfortunately, it ran just one year. Of the 260 episodes, 256 exist. This recording is a "space-age drama" and is the 20th episode in excellent sound from a 7.5ips full track reel recording once owned by one of the actors or production staff.
