I struggled with this instalment of Astounding Stories. Reading requires a clear and pleasant voice which the first reader has, but his habit of introducing pauses where there shouldn’t be and not pausing where they should made it very hard for me to follow. The bulk of the issue is read by an enthusiastic reader who is sadly let down by the quality of the recording and variable sound levels which verges from inaudible to distortion soaked loudness often in the space of one sentence. A shame as he gives it a good go but it’s hard going especially when listening in the car. To The Moon was beautifully read but was only a short segment. I’d like to hear more from this reader, she has a delightful voice and great delivery
