Excellent start to a series

This book was awesome! Basically just a bunch of cool short stories of how the crew of The Crypt were selected with their trials and tribulations. It just REALLY sucks that you never really find out about The Crypt's purpose and he hasn't finished the next book.

and i can'waket wait to through the rest of the series. my take would be on the music selection, my personal opinion is that such music does not rhyme with sci fi. thank you Scott for the outstanding book and performance.

When you write a book your primary goal is to write a book that tells a story a story has a beginning a middle and an end. It should also have a villain and hero. But this 28 chapter menagerie wanders around the galaxy with no beginning no middle no end the only villain is not fully defined there is no hero or heroine so it's hard to determine who's who. Now the author had written another book where the critics had told the author to remove unnecessary character development. In this book, all it does is the character development of about 25 different characters with no connection other than being assigned to a vessel that never departs. Note to Scott: have the ship depart and go on an adventure.

I really enjoyed this book and despite what people say it is NOT a collection of short stories as most people would think about it. The clue is In the title Book 1: the crew! it's about how the crew of the PUV James Keeling ended up there and why. Scott sigler wrote some of these with other writers. Mac Cooley is written with Paul Elard Cooley author of tattoo and closet treats (both of which are in librivox and are great stories!) if you like Scott sigler you will like this and his dark humour in some of them. haven't been able to find book two yet but I hope too!

i saw a lot of bad reviews stating the book seemed to be a collection of short stories and didnt really have a story line. i agree to an extent but i think they are missing the bigger picture. This book to me was just the beginning of a much longer story. so there had to be a set up of how the crew gets on the crypt. i think Scott delivered a great beginning to a larger story line

I really enjoyed this collection of background stories, each detailing how different crew members earned their spot on the PUV James Keeling, i.e., the Crypt. The one drawback is that these are all separate stories while what I assume is the more unified sequel is still being written.
