I found this book after an internet search on "Hesperus". My mom (who is 75) mentioned that after being in the wind, her mom would often say she looked like the wreck of the Hesperus. Diving into the mystery of this odd saying, I came across the poem in this lovely book. (I can imagine my grandma memorizing poems when she was in grade school - and I think her life was richer for having lines of poetry buried in her mind to call out during her life.) This is an excellent collection that covers the gambit of classic children's poetry - from the simple (Twinkle Twinkle, The Owl and the Pussy-Cat), to the classic (The Raven), to the epic (How They Brought the Good News from Ghent to Aix). A breadth of emotions are covered - there's plenty of lighthearted play, but balanced with some serious and challenging subjects. KayRay does an excellent job of bringing each of these poems to life. Some were quite familiar, for some, hearing the entire poem opened up a new understanding of the one or two familiar lines I knew, and some were entirely new gems. One of the best audio books I have listened to!
Fabulous

As usual Kayray is marvelous. The poems are a delight and I plan to share them with my grandchildren so they stay "alive".
OMG!

I can't believe you have this book. I have my mother's copy from her childhood, 1916. She read for me when I was a child. We memorized many together.

Beside the poems being short and not boring for children, each one of them had a unique message within. Also Kara's soft and friendly voice was very calming and positive. Thanks to everyone
