The first two shows are from ABC and recorded in Hollywood when Henry Morgan was filming "So This is New York." Morgan's main stooge was Arnold Stang, who went to Los Angeles with Morgan. Morgan had to pick up local actors to take on other parts in sketches. You may recognise them. In the first show's soap opera spoof, you will hear June Foray and Peter Leeds. Bernie Green's ABC staff orchestra is wonderfully quirky. The remaining three shows are from NBC, where Morgan aired sustaining. The network assigned top announcer Ben Grauer to the programme (until it changed days and Ed Herlihy took over). Supporting players you'll hear include Mae Questel (the voice of Olive Oyl) and Pert Kelton as a cab driver (she was the original Alice Kramden). Brad Barker provides dog barks in the final programme. While the cast gets credited, the writers don't. The final sketches are reserved for radio parodies. It sounds like Morgan was running late on the last show as the pace picks up. Bernie Green was still at ABC but Morgan's new bandleader used his arrangements.
