NOT a full play of ONE of the original B-casts. Nor is this a four hour Audible reading. It IS, however, a decent programme. Several venerable journalist did this very thing; —i.e. became passengers on WW II bombing runs. Such runs could be anywhere from 6 hours to 3 hours. —Depends upon the target and special conditions. I have a full B-Cast from CBS and Ed Murrow. It IS long, —several hours at least. Murrow did this on BOTH a Lancaster and a B-17. I have the B-17 version, I think —"S For Sugar"?

Len Deighton's "Bomber"

This very long play was originally broadcast by the BBC throughout a single day, the "anniversary" of the events portrayed. It combines narrative based on Deighton's novel with real eye-witness accounts from both sides in the conflict. It is harrowing, moving and above all riveting radio. This reviewer originally recorded it on videotape - the only format long enough to capture it all at the time - but subsequently over-recorded it, so is delighted to find it again.

Admins: Are you sure that this can be uploaded (and downloaded) here? You can still buy a license from audible.com. Maybe someone made a mistake assuming the date/time at the beginning of the recording were when the recording was made, not to set period the dramatization was set in? John
