Life with Luigi
Cy Howard
Life with Luigi is an American radio situation comedy series that began on September 21, 1948, on CBS Radio and aired its final episode on March 3, 1953. The show centers on Luigi Basco, a newly arrived Italian immigrant in Chicago, and his humorous experiences. Many episodes take place during Luigi's night school classes with other immigrants, while another recurring theme involves his landlord, Pasquale, who schemes to get Luigi to marry his daughter.
Created by Cy Howard, Life with Luigi features a cast that includes J. Carrol Naish as Luigi, Alan Reed as Pasquale, and Jody Gilbert as Rosa. The show was popular, competing successfully with Bob Hope's The Pepsodent Show, and despite being without a sponsor for much of its run, it gained a significant audience share.
