Books by late-Victorian/early Edwardian authors are often a bit of a gamble. This one is no exception. A good reader can often make a poor book acceptable, a poor reader can often make a good book unacceptable. This is neither a good book or a good reader!

it was so hard to listen to that I couldn't get past the first chapter. sounds like it was read by a computer!
