The Life of St. Teresa offers an insightful exploration into the life of Teresa of Ávila, a pivotal figure in the history of Christian mysticism and reform. Born in 1515, Teresa's journey as a Carmelite nun and her profound spiritual experiences led her to become a key reformer of the Carmelite Order, establishing the Discalced Carmelites alongside John of the Cross.

Frances Alice Forbes delves into Teresa's remarkable contributions to spirituality and literature, highlighting her influential works such as The Life of Teresa of Jesus and The Interior Castle. These texts not only reflect her deep contemplative practices but also serve as foundational texts in the realm of Christian meditation.

Through this biography, listeners will gain a deeper understanding of Teresa's legacy, her canonization in 1622, and her recognition as a Doctor of the Church in 1970. Forbes captures the essence of a woman whose life and writings continue to inspire countless individuals on their spiritual journeys.
