The first story, by L.M. Montgomery is great, as well is The Star. The rest of the stories have traumatized my five poor children. In seeking a “heartwarming” “family” collection, my poor children are asking me about dead babies and if I’m going to die in my bed and leave them all alone. Of course, these were the literature themes of the day. BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF THERE WAS SOME DISCLAIMER THAT SAID DEAD CHILDREN IN ALMOST EVERY TRAGIC STORY. :D
