L. Frank Baum
Read by LibriVox Volunteers
Ozma of Oz was the third title in the Oz series by L. Frank Baum. In this book Dorothy is shipwrecked and lands on the shores of a fairy country that adjoins Oz, the land of Ev. There she meets Tiktok, a wind-up mechanical man; a talking chicken, Billina; and Ozma, the girl ruler of Oz who is leading a quest to rescue the royal family of Ev from their captivity by the Nome King. Dorothy is also reunited with her old friends, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion. Together the adventurers travel to the Nome King’s underground kingdom and have many exciting adventures before returning to Oz, and for Dorothy, eventual return to her family in the “civilized” world. I love these dramatic readings :)
Wow!

I loved this dramatic story! I would've liked it more if the voices were the same as the ones from the wonderful wizard of oz.

I listened to the 1st chapter of several versions before decided to download this version (how picky was that, eh?ð ). For me, this version beats the others.... all readers bring every characters to life!! Just listen, and you'll agree with me...

I thought it was really great!!! The plot was always turning and twisting and even though I'm pretty older than what you would expect someone to listen to this, I found it as enjoyable as a young child would! I'm also happy because one of my "persuasion" readers read part of the book!
Long time oz fan

Overall, it was a pleasant listen. I love hearing some of the regular readers on here that I have enjoyed in the past. However, some mispronunciations and some odd intonations to reading slightly subtracted from the whole experience i. E. "Bill-na."
like listening to a play
