Plenty of mixed emotions, conniving, unwarranted guilt...

malice, passionate love, envy, "string pulling", over scrupulosity, deliberately unsupportive associates and family, hag jealous aunts, crazy hypocritical victorian norms, and so on and so forth . Just started again. I hope this doesn't turn into a slower version of "east enders". that tv series i loved at first but the rapid cycling of emotions and scheming drove me crazy after awhile. Anyway the early years of soap east enders had the best actors and many subplots compared to recently or currently if its still running...ha ha but i digress, sorry btw, the lost or mis numbered chapter 4 for 5 might be an idea for the Librivox volunters to jointly write something like "the lost chapter" or "the anonymous writer", "the chapter thief" ,"the book gremlin", "the author mystery"etc...need not be anything to do with this book....just off the top of my head. Also, be grateful if anyone has some insight to who the anonymous author might be.... Lani Small is a fine reader. Always grateful for all volunteer readers, and support volunteers, Librivox and Internet Archive. btw Lani, sorry for being a prig, but the legendary German composer Wagner (although not my cup of tea) is pronounced Vahgner, ah as in ah, for lack of a better phonetic description. Wagner was "in to" Norse Mythology although he did write some pleasant short piano works and songs. And a few other words you mispronounced but you still have a fine clear voice. I know very few of us have the time. but when you have the time it might be good to read over a chapter before recording, and put the words you are unsure how to pronounce, copy and paste it into the endless audio pronunciation websites on the net. again grateful for your reading. dahszil male american dissident

Good, if slightly predictable, book. Narrators ranged from excellent to 'much room for improvement'. One narrator actually read the wrong chapter. Fortunately, MOST of the chapters were read by very capable people thus the 4 stars.
