Reviews

a good book to listen to

(5 stars)

Brand had pretty much the same plots and characters (including stunning horses) in his novels, but they are good stories that hold your attention. One odd thing about Kilmer’s reading is the pronunciation of the horse’s name. He started out with Les Sangre (even tho Les is French and Sangre is Spanish) then it was La Sangre and ended with El Sangre.

One of my Dad's favorite top two authors, Max Brand, and Zane Gray.

Another gift from my Dad's " All Time Favorite " list !!! Dad's happiest day was when he finally was able to retire, so he actually had time during the days to read all the books he had purchased and set aside to read, "Someday" !?!

(3.5 stars)

Kilmer, always a good reader! Some of the story was riveting, especially the first part. Then agonizing in the latter part as the hero seeks to find his true self....new characters and events that seem to go on and on. Galls me that the betrayer was never discovered which would have been an exciting moment.

Reader worth getting used to.

over a bet, will blood will out or will love and parenting? should the lost occurs before his 25th birthday, he inherits otherwise he is kicked out. he knows nothing of this.

Great story

Max Brand explores the complexities of blood relations in this novel. Also examined is the concept of "nature versus nuture." Max Brand is an artistic genius at reveling character and developing the theme.

A GOOD WOMAN IS PRICELESS

A unique western with a unique, feel-good ending. Brand stood at the head of his class and still does. Kilmer's style and voice add pure enjoyment to these stories.

Loved It!
