The cool voyages of dr. Dolittle are amazing and awesome!!! One of the best Librivox recordings I have ever listened to! 5 stars for sure!

The tale most excellent, the readers not so.

A childhood story that I have not visited for many years but is still very enjoyable. I am sorry to say that this otherwise enjoyable item is let down by the book being read by a variety of readers. They are all very good in their way, but the pronouncement of certain words grates and the quality and volume varies considerably. If you can endure varied accents, please give it a go.

If you end up listening to this, you will be amazed. It is a fantastic story, and very well read! Denny Sayers is my favorite, he’s amazing. He reads with emotion, humor, and has an interesting and expressive voice. Love it. It’s just…uhm…so…………….adjectives fail me. Sorry. 😜😸 Think of your favorite, and insert it, ok? Thanks for reading and God bless! -Wildcat

Although it is an interesting story, there is far too much racial stereotyping for me. I may look for an abridged version with the racist comments and descriptions lessened or removed altogether. As this is a shared account, I should say that the other user called this book “Wholesome, funny, and good for all ages”. Ehhhhhhhh the funny is right. Maybe it used to be wholesome, and in this day and age I would seriously question the “good for all ages”. Still, the overall story is good.
