Perfect book and perfect reader

thank you again and again for the amazing reading.. just listening to Anne's books through your voice makes me feel that this world isn't that bad after all.. i hope the world could be like Anne's world. This book is especially dear to me. I loved every second of it. Hope you're having a great life, dear Karen.

When I discovered LibriVox in 2006, Karen Savage was one the first Readers I became both acquainted with and captivated by: I new this talented lady—a Librarian who was also a multi-linguist, would someday delight a larger audience as a professional Reader, and find a pot of gold to boot. Although I do not speak or understand Spanish, I even enjoyed listening to her read a book in that language! The book just read by Ms. Savage, coupled with my own imagination helped me feel that I was a guest and friend of the characters in this House of Dreams.

Karen Savage does a wonderful job reading. Her smooth transition between characters help the story be heard instead of getting distracted by choppy transitions. Anne is one of my favorite heroines that this book reflects her maturity and wisdom of years yet there remains her creative imagination.
comforting :)

I have listened to Karen Savage's Anne recordings over and over during and after quarantine. There is so much that is encouraging and comforting and beauty-revealing in Ms. Montgomery's writing, and Ms. Savage does a brilliant job bringing the characters to life: with humour, lightheartedness, hope, warmth...... I had a wonderful time listening to House of Dreams again. There is just something very special about Anne Shirley--and something very special about Karen Savage.

This is no book of innocence as the preceding books in the series were. I felt the were touches of the gothic in it at times. There is still the delight in innocent friendships that runs through the whole series but moments of tragedy strike too. The reader was excellent, a professional who caught the spirit of the book extremely well.
Best for sleeping and dreaming

Karen Savage is the absolute best reader for bedtime stories. Characters have fun voices, but they don't go overboard or get obnoxious and loud. If you have trouble falling or staying asleep, or just need some help learning to dream again, Savage's reading of Montgomery's sweet stories is always perfect.
My favourite book!

I love listening to this book while I’m trying to get to sleep, as I have insomnia. It is a lovely Victorian era book which always makes me feel nostalgic, and Karen’s version in hands down the best. Hopefully you’ll do the next one.
