Personality Plus introduces listeners to Emma McChesney, a savvy and stylish divorced mother navigating the challenges of early 20th-century America. As she embarks on a journey through the business world, Emma's wit and determination shine, making her a memorable figure in Edna Ferber's exploration of women's roles in society.

Set against the backdrop of a rapidly changing landscape, this novel captures the spirit of ambition and resilience. Emma's story unfolds with humor and insight, reflecting the complexities of balancing personal aspirations with societal expectations.

Ferber's keen observations and engaging narrative style bring to life the struggles and triumphs of a woman striving for success in a male-dominated world. Personality Plus is not just a tale of business; it is a celebration of individuality and the pursuit of one's dreams.

A charming, homely tale with wit

It seemed much shorter than the previous work by the author, and with less devious characters and drama. A nice comforting story and very well read

cute story, Great reader!!!

I enjoyed this a lot. Reminded me of my career efforts trying to break into the competitive backstabbing business of commercial art in nyc. In any area of work, human nature hasn't learned from previous generations. A light-hearted meaningful story with a touch of humor just as up to date for today. Touches on a mother's attachment to her son that she raised by herself. Highly recommended. Unfortunately a whites only world, but did have one person of color, a foreigner, thus truly realistic, sadly.

This is quite different from the first book in the series. It's not quite as robust but it ends strongly. The reading is, of course, excellent.

excellent .
