D. H. Lawrence
Read by Cate Barratt
The collection of short stories - of which The Prussian Officer is one - was Lawrence’s first such book. homoeroticism & violence in classic short story
OxfordOllie
Lawrence at his urgent and vivid finest. Repressed and agonised feelings an officer has for his handsome young footman turn him into a cruel bully. But the aristocratic arrogance of the Prussian officer knows little of the explosive reaction his oppressive behaviour will provoke. Clearly and well read.
