Bible (KJV) NT 04: John
King James Version
Read by LibriVox Volunteers
The Gospel According to John presents a profound exploration of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, offering a unique perspective among the four canonical gospels. This account begins with the powerful testimony of John the Baptist and unfolds through the public ministry of Jesus, culminating in his death, burial, and resurrection.
Distinct from the synoptic gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, John's narrative emphasizes the divine nature of Christ and his relationship with humanity. Through a series of miracles, parables, and profound discourses, listeners will encounter themes of faith, love, and redemption that resonate deeply across time.
As you journey through this ancient text, you will find a rich tapestry of theological insights and reflections that invite contemplation and understanding of the Christian faith. The Gospel of John remains a cornerstone of religious literature, offering both historical context and spiritual depth.

Such a pleasure to listen to those who read with reverence and understanding. I enjoyed listening to Michael and Beth. The others have to improve, i.e. Sundiata and Gabrielle.

John is my favorite of the Gospels. It is a very personal book, and it's always enjoyable to hear different translations. As for the readers... Michael Packard was good and Beth Thomas was wonderful. The other two were not good, but tolerable.
