Reviews

Well performed, but there are structural flaws with the book

(3 stars)

The main problem is that the book gives a general sweep of history, then goes discipline by discipline, which means you meet the same polymaths over and over (oh, Hypatia again?). Well performed, though, and interesting if you know to zip past every later mention of Hildergarde.
